What does the number mean?
The number represents the amount of parts per million, or milligrams per liter, of dissolved solids that exist in your water sample. The higher the TDS reading the higer the amount of dissolverd solids in the water.
The United States EPA's Maximum Contaminant Level for Total Dissolver Solids (TDS) for human consumption is 500ppm.
